Where Carers and their families come first

Aboriginal Carer Support and Respite Program

Aboriginal Carer Support and Respite program aims to support Aboriginal Carers cultural customs across the Northern metropolitan region of Adelaide, by regenerating traditional cultural values, beliefs and healing practices. The program provides the opportunity for participants, to share knowledge with the aim of empowering positive social & emotional wellbeing outcomes for participants taking part in the program.

Northern Carers Network supports Aboriginal Carers, Grand Parents and their families to have better access to services, information, counselling and advocacy. A variety of activities including retreats, support groups, respite and social outings are offered to Carers. Support groups specifically for Carers, Young Carers and Grand Parents are held regularly.

NCN provides a range of services to support Aboriginal Carers and Grandparents and they are as follows:

support groups

Northern Carers Network offers access to a range of Support Groups for Carers. Some are specialised and others are more general. Some groups meet monthly and some fortnightly. Some share coffee and a chat and others hear from guest speakers or go out and about. What they all have in common is they provide an opportunity for Carers to connect with people in similar circumstances to their own.
